There was a smell of Failure in the air tonight. What did Failure smell like? Like garbage and defecation and rancid milk a week after it expired.
And if you wondered what Failure sounded like, it sounded like men losing it all on a bet and kids getting grounded and teams losing by making one false move.
And going further, what did Failure look like? Failure looked like a blank computer screen without saving your work, or it looked like a 59.9% on a report card: one hundred billion dreams of success dying like those in tragedies, down and down into nothing.
That is how Failure smelled and looked and sounded, and tonight you could almost touch Failure.
